More snow pictures

There are just so many fun pictures from our snowy weekend. Here are some more!

Don't eat yellow snow! Eat it while it's falling--it's safer that way!

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes!

God's Majesty is white this morning....

This is what my brother Bill said this morning and I must say it was what I was thinking as I walked the dogs eary this a.m. Kansas is blanketed in a beautiful sparkly snow. It was very windy through the night, but this morning it was totally peaceful. I got to see the fields completely unblemished and a sheet of shimmering white. I could see the tracks of a fox/ coyote make it's way down the railroad track and circle our chicken coupe (hmmm) The trees glistened, the earth was hushed... I LOVED IT! God is so amazing. I am trying to think of a verse that captures it:

3When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? 5Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! 6You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field, 8The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. 9O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

We enjoyed the snow storm yesterday and today we had wonderful time playing in the snow. Here are some pictures: we went sledding KS style, behind the 4 wheeler. Very fun, except the snow was so powdery that it realllllllllly smacked ya in the face.

A-L-A-N!

OK, now that we are on child #4 I have come to understand that hair cutting is just experiment that many kids must do! Alan succumb to the temptation last Tuesday night. I was working downstairs and I heard him running the sink water after his bath. I do not know why that indicated that something was up, but my mommy radar served me well. He was trimming the hairs off the top of his head and sending them down the sink. I did not even yell, but he did have to endure another longer haircut this evening! Which he did not think was fun. Lol!

Super Spellers!

Kudoes to Collin and Hanswho were super spellers this week. Hans majorly improved his spelling test score almost acing it and Collin placed 6th in the spelling bee. If he were 5th he would have been an alternate, but he was pleased to be so close. Good work boys, keep it up!

It turned verrrry cold here in KS the end of the week and today there is freezing rain falling on the ground. I am glad our Erin in her prayers last night noted that we have a warm house to stay in. How often we take those things for granted. I'll leave you with a scrapbook page I made of another frosty day in January 2005:

A little snow, what kids can do with it...

Unlike Western KS that got 36" of snow, we had 3 inches of rain and maybe a few inches of snow. However, like faithful children are kids anxiously watched it snow, dressed warmly (even if I did have to call Alan in twice for being out there only partially dressed), and had at it. They had snowball fights, made snow angels, tried to skate on a frozed lake of mud in a pasture, and made a snow family. Sadly, Hans was inside during the snow person making because he had an upset stomach. So I took pictures or him to see. Mud and snow: nature's toys from God's blessing of moisture! Thank you Father!!!

Remmy & Chance playing...caught ya!

There was such an outpouring of love for poor Remmy in his moose antlers that I thought I would post a picture of him playing with Chance. They did settle in to be best buds by Saturday, as the pictures shows. Remmy would give Chance's ear a good bath and Chance would chew on Remmy's neck, growl, grunt and carry on. It was a fun week! We always enjoy his visits.

Happy 2007!

Well, we are off on another adventure-- a new year. We actually saw the New Year in, something we have not done in years. Well, I guess that is not true. In 2004, I was with Alan in the ER who had a mild concussion, that does not count! In 2003 and 2005 we were in hotels traveling back from PA and went to bed before midnight. Last night we had a lovely gathering of some of our friends and we stayed up til 11:30 playing Cranium Jr with the kids. It was silly because there is no logic or rationality with children at that hour of the evening, but time just got away from us. So we put the kids to bed grabbed a little wine and I watched a rebroadcast of the ball dropping in Time Square in New York. Chris read his book the Eldest, second in the Eragon dragon series. (Santa brought it for him).
May God bless you this New Year!
